Compared to other castle-themed LEGO sets, the Fantasy Era Castle Giant Chess Set stands out due to its dual functionality as a game. While sets like the King's Castle 70404-1 offer a more traditional castle building experience, this chess set provides a unique display piece with play value. The high piece count and numerous minifigures justify its higher price point compared to smaller castle sets.
