Collectors appreciate the convenience of getting all four main protagonists in a single pack, but many criticize the lack of actual building elements and the glued nature of the minifigures.

📝 Our Take

AI-assisted editorial summary, grounded in our LEGO database and public community discussions. How we use AI

The Exo-Force Magnet Set is a nostalgic treasure trove for fans of LEGO's classic anime-inspired theme. Released in 2007, this pack offers a quick and easy way to collect the main protagonists of the Exo-Force universe—Hikaru, Ryo, Takeshi, and Ha-Ya-To—complete with their signature spiky hairpieces and detailed torso prints.

This set is perfect for Exo-Force completionists and minifigure collectors looking for a retro display piece. Because it is a magnet set, there is virtually no building involved, making it an excellent decorative item for a fridge, locker, or metal display shelf rather than an immersive building project.

Skip this if you want a traditional building experience or fully playable minifigures. With only 16 pieces and figures that may be glued to their magnetic bases depending on the production run, you would be better off looking at standalone Exo-Force battle machine sets like the Cyclone Defender.

The Exo-Force Magnet Set holds a unique appeal due to the cult-classic status of the Exo-Force theme. While the theme itself is highly nostalgic, magnet sets generally experience slower appreciation compared to standard building sets. The main driver of value here is the minifigures themselves; however, because these figures are attached to magnet bases, their appeal to general minifigure collectors is slightly limited compared to their standard set counterparts. That being said, sealed copies of this set have shown a steady rising price trend, moving from its original $12.99 MSRP to around $17.36. While it won't yield massive investment returns, it represents a stable, low-cost collectible for die-hard fans of the theme.

Compared to standard Exo-Force sets like the Uplink (8100) or River Dragon (8111), this magnet set offers no building experience but provides an efficient way to acquire all four main pilots at once. If you want playable mechs, buy the individual sets; if you want a simple, nostalgic display for your fridge, this is the perfect option.
