The Ferrari FXX 1:17 is a respectable rendition of a racing icon. This set captures the sleek lines and aggressive styling of the Ferrari FXX, offering builders a chance to recreate one of Maranello's most exclusive track cars in LEGO form. The model features a predominantly red and black color scheme, staying true to the FXX's signature look.

This set is perfect for LEGO enthusiasts and Ferrari fans alike. With a moderate piece count and straightforward construction, it offers a manageable and enjoyable building experience. Displaying the finished model will appeal to those with an appreciation for automotive design.

Skip this if you're seeking complex building techniques or highly detailed interiors. The model focuses primarily on exterior aesthetics and lacks interior features. If you prefer larger-scale, more intricate car models, consider the LEGO Technic series or Creator Expert vehicles.

⏳ Retired

The Ferrari FXX 1:17 set, released in 2008, has been retired for several years, making it a potentially interesting investment. Its association with the Ferrari brand provides a degree of inherent appeal, particularly to automotive enthusiasts. The set's piece count is reasonable, and its price has remained relatively stable, suggesting consistent demand. However, its value as an investment will depend on its condition, completeness, and the continued popularity of the Ferrari brand among collectors. Consider that sets with minifigures tend to perform better long-term.

Compared to other LEGO Ferrari sets, the 8156-1 offers a balance between size, detail, and price point. While larger Technic models provide more intricate building experiences, this set offers a more approachable build for casual fans. Alternatives in a similar price range might include smaller Speed Champions sets, but those lack the scale and presence of the FXX model. For serious collectors, the larger Technic Ferrari Daytona SP3 (42143-1) offers a more complex build, but at a significantly higher price.
