📝 Our Take

AI-assisted editorial summary, grounded in our LEGO database and public community discussions. How we use AI

The Green NRG Dragon is an absolute standout piece from the golden era of Ninjago. Combining vibrant trans-bright green elements with dynamic poseability, this 2016 dragon captures the ferocious yet majestic essence of Lloyd's elemental beast.

This set is perfect for Ninjago completists and dragon enthusiasts. With a satisfying 4.5-hour build featuring clever Technic integration for wing-flapping action and tail stud shooters, it offers both an engaging assembly process and fantastic display presence.

Skip this if you are purely focused on modern modulars or strictly adult display pieces. As a retired play-set, its secondary market price of over $200 might be tough to swallow unless you are a dedicated fan of the Skybound wave.

Investment Grade

⏳ Retired

The Green NRG Dragon (70593-1) has proven to be a stellar performer on the aftermarket, climbing from its modest $49.99 MSRP to well over $200 today. As part of the beloved Skybound wave from 2016, it benefits from strong nostalgia and the enduring popularity of dragon sets within the Ninjago theme. The inclusion of exclusive or sought-after Skybound variants of Lloyd and Cole further bolsters its long-term value. Looking ahead, its investment grade remains solid. While the current market price already reflects much of its appreciation, sealed examples continue to command a premium due to high demand from collectors trying to complete their elemental dragon menageries. Buyers should look for complete sets with all minifigures and instructions to maximize future returns.
