📝 Our Take

AI-assisted editorial summary, grounded in our LEGO database and public community discussions. How we use AI

Lunar Launch Site is a classic set from the Spyrius theme. Released in 1994, this set perfectly captures the futuristic and somewhat villainous aesthetic of the Spyrius faction with its sleek black and red color scheme, trans-dark blue accents, and focus on robotic technology.

This set is perfect for LEGO Space enthusiasts and collectors of vintage themes. The build offers a satisfying experience with unique design elements, and the inclusion of three minifigures adds to its play and display value.

Skip this if you prefer more modern building techniques or larger, more complex sets. While charming, the set's simplicity may not appeal to those used to contemporary LEGO design; consider newer Space-themed sets for a more intricate build.

Lunar Launch Site (6959-1) presents a moderate investment opportunity. As a set from the classic Spyrius theme, it benefits from nostalgia and the enduring appeal of LEGO Space. The set's age and relative rarity contribute to its value, though its smaller piece count compared to modern sets may limit potential growth. Keeping the set sealed and in excellent condition is crucial for maximizing returns. While not as explosive as some licensed themes, its steady appreciation makes it a reasonable addition to a diversified LEGO investment portfolio.
