📝 Our Take

AI-assisted editorial summary, grounded in our LEGO database and public community discussions. How we use AI

Space Plane is a nostalgic micro-build from LEGO's classic UFO theme. Released in 1998, it captures the essence of retro sci-fi with its simple design, trans-neon green accents, and a lone UFO Droid minifigure, making it a charming piece of LEGO history.

This set is perfect for collectors of vintage LEGO themes and those seeking a quick, easy build. Its small size and low piece count make it an ideal impulse purchase or a fun stocking stuffer for LEGO enthusiasts of all ages.

Skip this if you're looking for a complex building experience or a large, imposing display piece. Consider larger UFO sets like the Alien Avenger (6979-1) for a more substantial and intricate model.

⏳ Retired

The Space Plane, while a small set, benefits from its association with the popular UFO theme and its age. As a retired set from 1998, it has scarcity value that continues to drive its price up. Though the piece count is low, the demand among collectors of classic LEGO themes makes it a potentially interesting investment, especially if kept in mint condition. However, the small size and relatively common parts limit its potential for explosive growth.
