Surveillance Squad is a charming slice of classic LEGO Town. Released in 1994, it perfectly captures the era's focus on everyday civic services with its police surveillance van and accompanying minifigures. The set offers a nostalgic trip for older LEGO fans and a solid introduction to classic Town for newer builders.

This set is perfect for LEGO collectors and fans of classic Town. The build is straightforward and satisfying, providing a great display piece that evokes a sense of nostalgia. It's also a valuable addition for those looking to expand their classic Town layouts.

Investment Grade

⏳ Retired

The Surveillance Squad set holds moderate investment potential due to its age, relatively low piece count, and classic Town theme. While not as iconic as some other Town sets, its rarity and complete sets in good condition command a premium on the secondary market. The rising price trend indicates increasing collector interest. However, the absence of unique or exclusive parts limits its investment upside compared to licensed themes or limited edition sets. Careful storage and maintaining the set's condition are crucial for maximizing its value.

Compared to modern LEGO City police sets, Surveillance Squad offers a simpler, more nostalgic building experience. While lacking the advanced features and intricate details of newer sets, it provides a unique charm and collectibility. Consider sets like the Mobile Police Unit (60315-1) for modern features or the Police Station (60316-1) for a larger, more complex build within the same theme. This set stands out for its vintage appeal and classic Town aesthetic.
