📝 Our Take

AI-assisted editorial summary, grounded in our LEGO database and public community discussions. How we use AI

The Volcano Supply Helicopter is a solid mid-range City set from the Volcano Explorers subtheme. Released in 2016, it features a detailed helicopter designed to transport equipment and explorers to active volcanoes. The set captures the adventurous spirit of exploration and scientific discovery, making it appealing to kids and adult collectors alike.

This set is perfect for children aged 8-12 and LEGO City enthusiasts. The build offers a satisfying balance of complexity and playability, taking approximately 4-5 hours to complete. The helicopter's functionality and the included minifigures encourage imaginative play.

Skip this if you prefer larger, more complex helicopter models or are not a fan of the LEGO City theme. Consider looking at Creator Expert vehicles or Technic helicopters for a more challenging build experience. Alternatively, check out other LEGO City sets from different subthemes like police or fire rescue.

Investment Grade

⏳ Retired

The Volcano Supply Helicopter (60123-1) presents a decent investment opportunity, particularly for LEGO City collectors. Its retired status contributes to its rising price trend. The theme's consistent popularity and the set's playability factor into sustained demand. While the piece count isn't exceptionally high, the set's unique theme and the inclusion of three minifigures add to its collectibility. However, potential investors should be aware that LEGO City sets generally don't experience the same level of appreciation as licensed themes or limited-edition exclusives, making risk mitigation a key consideration.

Fly in the exploration gear and fly out the crystals!

Take science and discovery to new heights with the Volcano Supply Helicopter. Finding more boulders means more crystal elements need to head to the lab. Features a Volcano Supply Helicopter, excavator and a boulder rack.
Volcano Supply Helicopter features spinning rotors, opening rear ramp and a lowering winch and hook.

⚖ Compare Similar Sets

Compared to other LEGO City helicopters, the Volcano Supply Helicopter stands out due to its unique theme and color scheme. Sets like the Police Helicopter (60275-1) offer similar play features but lack the volcano exploration aspect. For a larger and more detailed helicopter build, consider the Arctic Air Transport (60193-1), which has a higher price point but offers a more complex building experience.
