📝 Our Take

AI-assisted editorial summary, grounded in our LEGO database and public community discussions. How we use AI

The Service Truck (60073-1) is one of the most hilariously memorable LEGO City sets ever released. Featuring a fully functional service truck with a crane, its true claim to fame is the inclusion of a detailed, transportable porta-potty—complete with toilet paper and a very surprised occupant!

This set is perfect for City builders looking to inject some realistic humor into their layouts. The quick, satisfying build offers great play features like the crane hoist and the opening toilet door, making it a hit for both kids and adult fans of LEGO (AFOLs).

Skip this if you prefer serious, display-centric vehicles or find toilet humor a bit too juvenile. If you are looking for a complex, challenging build, you'd be better off with a larger Creator Expert vehicle or Technic set.

⏳ Retired

The Service Truck has proven to be an exceptional investment, with its retired value climbing significantly over its original $24.99 MSRP to over $60. This appreciation is largely driven by its unique subject matter—specifically the transportable porta-potty, which is a highly sought-after novelty piece for custom LEGO City layouts. While the LEGO City theme generally suffers from high saturation and frequent redesigns, sets with highly specific, humorous, or unique real-world utility like this one tend to hold and gain value exceptionally well. Future growth may slow down compared to its initial post-retirement spike, but it remains a highly collectible and desirable set on the secondary market.
