📝 Our Take

AI-assisted editorial summary, grounded in our LEGO database and public community discussions. How we use AI

Busto 41555-1 is a charmingly quirky member of the 2016 MCPD Mixels tribe. With its unique living jail cell gimmick and delightful personality, this small-format set captures the whimsical spirit of the Mixels theme perfectly.

This set is perfect for nostalgic Mixels completionists and builders who love eccentric character designs. The quick, pocket-money build offers a fun diversion and makes for a playful little desk companion once assembled.

Skip this if you are looking for advanced building techniques or traditional minifigures. As a retired impulse-buy set, current secondary market prices mean you are mostly paying for collector nostalgia rather than raw part value.

⏳ Retired

As a retired set from the beloved and now-defunct Mixels theme, Busto has seen a steady rise in its secondary market value. While originally retailing at a modest $4.99, it now commands higher prices driven entirely by nostalgia and completist demand from theme collectors. Because Mixels will likely never return in their original form, sealed or complete samples retain strong novelty appeal. However, with only 69 pieces and a primarily plastic-character build, its long-term investment ceiling is limited compared to major licensed properties, making it more of a nostalgic niche pickup than a powerhouse financial asset.

Busto is best compared to other entries in Series 7 of the Mixels theme, specifically 41554 Kuffs and 41556 Biskit, which round out the MCPD police tribe. While Kuffs offers a larger build, Busto stands out for its unique interactive cell gimmick and charmingly goofy facial expression.
