Spring Animal Playground (40709) is a charming seasonal treat that packs plenty of springtime cheer into a small, affordable package. Featuring a delightful duo of brick-built animal friends, a tree house, and fun play features like a working seesaw, this set captures the vibrant energy of spring perfectly.

This set is perfect for younger builders, seasonal decorators, and fans of cute animal builds. With 172 pieces, the quick and engaging build makes it a fantastic weekend activity or a wonderful Easter basket stuffer that easily finds a home on any desk or bookshelf.

Skip this if you are looking for complex building techniques or large-scale display pieces. At just 10cm tall, adult collectors focused on massive Modulars or Technic behemoths might find this a bit too diminutive for their tastes.

C+

Investment Grade

⏳ Retired

As a seasonal promotional and holiday-themed set (40709-1), the Spring Animal Playground carries modest investment potential driven largely by holiday nostalgia and completionist collectors of Easter-themed items. With a low initial MSRP of $12.99 and a retired status, small seasonal sets often see a gentle, steady bump in value as they become harder to find on secondary markets around spring holidays. While it won't yield massive returns compared to licensed UCS or modular sets, its accessible price point makes it a low-risk addition to a sealed collection. The inclusion of useful reddish-brown and botanical elements also gives it mild appeal for part-out sellers, though its primary driver remains gift-givers and seasonal display collectors.

Compared to larger seasonal sets or standard Creator 3-in-1 animal builds like the Forest Animals (31125), the Spring Animal Playground focuses heavily on play features like the seesaw and camp setup rather than just poseable fauna. It offers a more complete mini-playset experience in a compact footprint.
