📝 Our Take

AI-assisted editorial summary, grounded in our LEGO database and public community discussions. How we use AI

The KOM Moulding set is a unique piece of LEGO history. Released exclusively to Kirk Ole Madsen Group employees in 2012, it showcases the raw materials used in LEGO brick production, offering a rare glimpse behind the scenes.

This set is perfect for dedicated LEGO collectors and those interested in the company's history. Its limited availability and unique subject matter make it a desirable addition to any serious collection.

Skip this if you prefer traditional LEGO models or are looking for playability. This set is more of a display piece and conversation starter than a toy. Consider Creator Expert sets for more conventional building experiences.

The KOM Moulding set presents a unique investment opportunity due to its exclusivity and historical significance. Released only to Kirk Ole Madsen Group employees, its limited production run makes it highly sought after by collectors. The rising price trend suggests increasing demand, and as the set becomes rarer, its value is likely to continue appreciating. However, the lack of traditional play features and the set's focus on raw materials may limit its appeal to a broader audience. Potential investors should consider the long-term growth potential within the niche market of LEGO history and exclusive sets.

Unlike typical LEGO sets focused on playability or recognizable themes, the KOM Moulding set offers a unique glimpse into the LEGO production process. While sets like the LEGO House (21037-1) also offer insights into LEGO history, this set's focus on raw materials makes it a distinctive collectible. Those seeking a conventional building experience might prefer Creator Expert sets, but collectors interested in LEGO's heritage will find this set invaluable.
