Savannah Animals

Savannah Animals (2689-1) occupies a unique niche in the secondary market, driven almost entirely by vintage nostalgia and the collectibility of early DUPLO animal molds. With an original MSRP of just $12.99 in 1994, its current market value sitting well above $500 reflects extreme scarcity in complete, well-preserved condition. Vintage DUPLO sets, especially those featuring desirable animal figures like giraffes and elephants, are rarely found complete with their original printed baseplates and early minifigures. While the set has appreciated dramatically, potential buyers and investors must approach with caution. The high current price is heavily reliant on niche collector demand for 1990s DUPLO nostalgia rather than widespread market liquidity. Condition is everything here—sun-faded plastic, chewed pieces, or missing unique prints can drastically impact value. It remains a fascinating historical piece rather than a reliable financial asset, best suited for dedicated vintage theme curators.
