Baby Animals is a charming blast from the past for classic DUPLO collectors. Released in 1995 under the Town theme, this delightful assortment of molded animal figures represents a nostalgic era of early childhood LEGO toys.

This set is perfect for vintage LEGO enthusiasts and families introducing toddlers to DUPLO. The chunky, durable animal figures are built for endless imaginative play and hold up remarkably well decades later.

Skip this if you are looking for a modern building experience or standard System bricks. With only 8 pieces consisting entirely of specialized animal molds and basic DUPLO bricks, this is strictly a collector's novelty or a playful set for very young children.

Investment Grade

⏳ Retired

As a retired 1995 DUPLO set, Baby Animals occupies a unique niche in the secondary market. While standard DUPLO rarely commands massive appreciation, sets featuring vintage molded animals—especially in good condition with original prints—attract nostalgic collectors looking to recapture childhood memories. The current price of around $34.77 reflects a solid steady rise from its original $7.99 MSRP. The investment potential is moderate to good for sealed or complete-in-box specimens, though loose sets heavily depend on the condition of the printed animal eyes and spots. Because DUPLO was heavily played with by its target demographic, finding clean examples can be a challenge, giving well-preserved sets an edge in long-term value retention.

⚖ Compare Similar Sets

Compared to standard Town and DUPLO sets of the mid-90s, set 2659-1 focuses entirely on a menagerie of adorable baby animals rather than vehicles or buildings. While traditional sets offered more structural building, this pack wins on sheer cuteness and unique animal molds.
