The 2657-1 Service Station set presents a modest investment opportunity, primarily driven by its vintage status and the enduring appeal of the LEGO Town theme. Its low piece count and Duplo construction make it less attractive to serious investors, but its age and relative rarity could lead to gradual appreciation, especially for sets in excellent condition with original packaging. While the set is unlikely to yield significant returns, it represents a tangible piece of LEGO history that may appeal to collectors.

Compared to modern Duplo sets, the Service Station offers a simpler, more classic building experience. While lacking the advanced features and detailed designs of contemporary sets, its vintage charm and robust construction make it a unique addition to any collection. For those seeking a more intricate building experience, modern LEGO City sets provide a greater challenge and more detailed models.
