📝 Our Take

AI-assisted editorial summary, grounded in our LEGO database and public community discussions. How we use AI

Bumblebee is a fantastic addition to the LEGO Icons lineup. Capturing the essence of the beloved Autobot, this model boasts impressive articulation and a faithful recreation of his iconic design, making it a standout display piece for Transformers fans.

This set is perfect for LEGO enthusiasts and Transformers aficionados alike. The building experience is engaging and rewarding, offering a satisfying construction process that results in a posable and eye-catching figure.

Skip this if you prefer minifigure-scale Transformers or are looking for a set with vehicle transformation. Consider the Optimus Prime set (10302-1) for a larger, more complex build with vehicle mode, or smaller, transforming figures from the LEGO Transformers theme if available.

⏳ Retiring soon

Bumblebee (10338-1) presents a moderate investment opportunity. As part of the LEGO Icons series and based on a popular franchise, it has decent potential for appreciation, especially if the set retires within the next 1-2 years. The current discount makes it an even more attractive purchase. However, as a newer set, it will take time to realize significant gains, and its success hinges on continued interest in the Transformers brand. It is smaller and less complex than the Optimus Prime set, which may affect its long-term value.

Horizon Forbidden West: Tallneck

Bumblebee offers a more affordable entry point into the LEGO Transformers world compared to the larger Optimus Prime set (10302-1). While Optimus Prime provides a complex build with vehicle transformation, Bumblebee focuses on a detailed and posable robot mode. If you prefer a smaller, more display-oriented model, Bumblebee is a great choice. However, if you desire a more challenging build with transformation features, Optimus Prime is the better option.
