Why this worked.

If you remember, way back in season one, the ninja kept the great devourer by getting her to aggro on them one at a time, but i always questioned it, the devourer usually seems hyper focused and rarely gets distracted. Well I was rewatching the first season and I found out that nocturnal snakes don’t see as many colors as humans do.
