Why is True Potential now so different from season 1

I made a similar post to this a couple of years back, but that focused on what happened to true potential. This time I want to talk about the differences on how True Potential used to work versus now. There are 3 aspects to this however. the basics of true potential is that to unlock it, one must conquer over an obstacle, for example for Zane it was finding out he's a nindroid or for Sora was learning she didn't have to prove anything to her parents and finding a family that cared for her. ...
