Why are people doing this

Sorry I'm really upset right and this isn't meant to stir drama but I'm really wondering what's wrong with some people and their obsession with Lego Star Wars. I mean my inner child understands the joy of it sure but the lengths some collectors (or whatever this person) will go is astonishing to me. My 6 year's old son loves Star Wars and in particular Darth Vader. So we got him the "Boarding the Tantive IV" set for Easter. His face lit up when he saw the Lego Vader figure on the package....
