What Are These Pieces For?

Why does the new Jurassic World Dinosaur Fossils: Triceratops (77985) have these two 2x4 rounded tiles stuck out on hinges here? They just seem random; I thought maybe they'd be connected to the legs or ribs, but that's the final look for them — just sticking out. I then thought maybe it's a reference to how Triceratops skeletons are displayed for exhibits, but that doesn't appear to be the case either.
