War troll from LOTR
Reddit user /u/RebelRebel_24 recently shared a custom fan creation inspired by *The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King*, specifically recreating the iconic war troll that attacks Minas Tirith immediately after Grond breaches the front gate. Motivated by a rewatch of the film and a lack of the official cave troll bigfig—which lacks the necessary movie-accurate armor anyway—the builder set out to design their own custom figure from scratch.
The builder established strict design parameters for the project, ensuring the custom war troll scales effectively with the front gate of the Minas Tirith set. Additionally, the figure features movie-accurate armor and incorporates pose-ability similar to an official LEGO bigfig, successfully capturing the menacing presence of the creature from the cinematic battle sequence.
While this custom war troll is a fan-made MOC rather than an official commercial product, builders looking to display their own custom Lord of the Rings creations or safeguard loose pieces can always benefit from picking up a LEGO storage box or a LEGO display case to keep their custom collections organized and protected.
