Using lego rollercoaster tracks/carts for smaller scale trains?

Title says it all really. Im beginning to put together ideas for a lego winter village display, and id like to incorporate a train. Problem is im tight on space. I was wondering about the feasibility of using roller coaster tracks as they take up less space, but i want peoples opinions. Two problems i can envisage: Scaling a carriage to a rollercoaster cart- specifically not sure how well they would turn. Powering the train- may be possible with rollers under the track? submitted by ...
