Train Power System Recommendation/Rant

Hi all, I want to see if there is a good power system for Lego trains, because I am just so fed up with the current options. Use case: I am a college student, and I have a train setup that runs on the ceiling of my room. For this, I have a train that run an ESP32 that I use as an alarm clock. Other than that, in my room I use a remote controller to run Power Functions trains, Powered Up trains, and Buwizz 2.0 powered trains which run just for fun.
