This year, Lego has broken the records for both largest and smallest sets of all time.

21065 Sagrada Familia is now the biggest Lego set, coming in at 12,060 pieces. The previous record was 11,695 pieces, held by 31203 World Map (although not all the pieces were used at the same time) There are several Lego sets with only 1 piece. The smallest one by volume was previously set 1115 "Lighting Brick, 4.5V", released in 1980. But the three new Pokemon Smart tags are 2x2 tiles, which are smaller than the 2x2 lighting brick, technically making them the smallest Lego sets of all time....
