The weapon of desolations possible connection to the Neverealm

Considering that p2 is likely going to take place in the Neverealm. Im assuming that the weapon of desolation likely has ties to there. And it makes sense since the Neverealm is probably the most mysterious of all of the realms in the sense that we don't fully know the reason the FSM feared the place and forbade his sons from going there. He stated that it was a cold dark place. But keep in mind Zane came and froze the land much later. And it is by all other accounts a rather peaceful place...
