Starting from zero

I'm thinking about doing a ceiling mounted train in my garage workshop, all in I would be able to do a single loop with about 60-80 feet of track. Looking at the cost of O, HO, or N gauge track, and it gets pretty expensive fast. I don't currently have any L Gauge stuff yet.
