Railway Express MOC (#4561)
A LEGO fan is upgrading their Railway Express MOC (My Own Creation) to work with the modern Power Functions Hub and Motor. The creator, /u/Wolfspane, is excited about the project's progress and shared details of the build.
The MOC is based on the Railway Express set, originally released in 2000. The updated design incorporates a drive motor in the rear of the train. Lights are routed through the fuel tank and the front bogie to illuminate the headlights. Additionally, the builder included a small engine accessible by opening the rear doors.
The creator's post highlights the ability to modernize older LEGO sets with newer technology. This project demonstrates how LEGO enthusiasts can enhance their existing collections and integrate them with current LEGO systems.
If you're inspired to build your own train MOC, you might find a LEGO building plate helpful for creating a stable base.
Working on a MOC to upgrade my Railway Express that I got back in 2000 to run off of the new Power Functions Hub and Motor. Really happy with how it has turned out. The drive motor is in the rear and the lights snake through the fuel tank and forward bogie to the headlights. Even made a little engine to sit in the back that can be accessed by opening the rear doors. submitted by /u/Wolfspane [link] [comments]
