BlockTalk BlockTalk Summary

A LEGO fan created a playscale version of the Executor Star Destroyer, a set that LEGO has never officially released. The builder, /u/Lord-Vladek, shared their impressive custom creation and the challenges they faced in designing it.

The fan-made Executor Star Destroyer presented difficulties due to its unique dimensions, which are not ideal for a playscale model. The design loses a lot of space in the front because the ship is so narrow. The back of the spaceship is also short, preventing it from closing if minifigures are placed on the edges. The builder attempted to include a retractable handle but struggled to balance the weight. The model's design was inspired by the 2014 Star Destroyer set, the dimensions of the Midi Executor, and the greebles of the UCS version.

The builder's experience highlights the complexities of LEGO design, particularly when adapting iconic ships like the Executor Star Destroyer. The project demonstrates the dedication and skill of LEGO enthusiasts who create their own sets.

If you're inspired to build your own Star Wars creations, you might find a LEGO Star Wars building kit helpful for getting started.

Unlike the Star Destroyer you lose a ton of space in the front since it is so skinny. The spaceship is also very short in the back, which unfortunately means you can't close it up if you have anyone standing on the edges. I tried to add a retractable handle, but I couldn't get the center of weight right. I have some mad respect towards the Star Wars...
