Honestly, we really need to stop calling the post-movie looks 'new' designs at this point. It’s been almost a decade since the change, and they’ve officially been around longer than the OG designs ever were. If anything, they’re just the 'current' standard. I’ll always have a soft spot for the classic simple faces, but looking at them side-by-side, the level of craftsmanship in the recent seasons is just objective growth.
