Did Wu died here? Through the second episode, they show us that to travel to the underworld you should reach a very high speed, but I really doubt Wu's fall was fast enough to enter the underworld. Or there was a portal under the lava cascade? And if that so, why the ninja didn't use it instead of petting the dragons?
