The Iron Builder competition's eighth round of Season 7 has concluded, with Eann “Miscellanabuilds” McCurdy, the defending champion, emerging victorious over Drew “CRCT Productions” Cazenave-Tapie. The judges' decision was 2-1 in favor of Eann, highlighting the impressive creations from both builders.
Drew Cazenave-Tapie discussed his experience in the competition. He expressed his enjoyment in returning to LEGO building after a brief hiatus, crediting competitions like Iron Builder for helping him re-engage with his parts inventory. He found the competition a fun challenge, despite facing a talented opponent. Drew also shared that the competition pushed him to explore styles and subjects outside his usual sci-fi and industrial builds. He found the seed part, the flower bell in light blue, particularly challenging due to its limited connection points and his lack of bright light blue pieces. He was proud of his use of the flower bell in the fighter jet thrusters and the floor pattern for the market.
Drew was impressed by Eann's builds, especially the "Coral City," and noted how Eann managed to incorporate the seed part in creative ways even after six other builds. Drew found the Iron Builder contest to be intense but enjoyable, opening doors to new building ideas.
