BlockTalk BlockTalk Summary

The Minnesota Brick Convention was a major disappointment, according to a recent review. The event, which took place in an unspecified location, failed to deliver on its promises and left attendees feeling let down.

The reviewer, /u/Silent_Perception754, stated that the MOC (My Own Creation) showcases were extremely limited. The convention's website advertised extensive displays, including Star Wars and white brick areas, but these were largely absent. The entire event was contained within a single hockey rink, which contributed to the feeling of a lackluster experience. Furthermore, the reviewer noted that the vendors at the convention appeared to be the main focus, with prices for items being two to three times higher than those found on BrickLink, a popular online marketplace for LEGO enthusiasts.

The reviewer concluded that the Minnesota Brick Convention was essentially a "lightly disguised scam," given the ticket prices and the overall quality of the event. They strongly advised against attending any future events organized by the same group, regardless of the city.

For LEGO fans looking for a better experience, consider checking out other LEGO conventions or exploring online marketplaces like BrickLink. You might also want to invest in a LEGO storage organizer to keep your collection tidy.

We’ve been to events in many cities over the years and this was the worst of all time. The showcases for MOCs we’re extremely limited. The site advertise that there would be entire Star Wars areas, white brick areas, and extensive displays. None of that. It was basically all fit inside of one hockey rink. It was absolutely disappointing....
