LEGO SMART Play Press Release – Star Wars Pre-Orders January 9

LEGO has unveiled the LEGO SMART Play system, a new play innovation designed to bring LEGO creations to life. The announcement includes three new LEGO Star Wars sets, with pre-orders beginning on January 9 and a release date of March 1.

The LEGO SMART Play system utilizes the LEGO SMART Brick, which incorporates innovative technologies to allow LEGO builds to respond to how they are played with. The first three sets in the line are Star Wars-themed. Set 75241, Darth Vader’s TIE Fighter, includes 473 pieces and retails for $69.99. It features one LEGO SMART Brick, a LEGO SMART MINIFIGURE of Darth Vader, and a SMART TAG for the TIE Fighter. Set 75423, Luke’s Red Five X-wing, contains 584 pieces and costs $99.99. This set includes one LEGO SMART Brick, two LEGO SMART MINIFIGURES of Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia, and five SMART TAGS representing the X-wing, an Imperial turret, a transporter, a command center, and R2-D2 accessories. The third set, 75427, Throne Room Duel & A-wing, has 962 pieces and is priced at $159.99. It features two LEGO SMART Bricks, three LEGO SMART MINIFIGURES of Luke Skywalker, Emperor Palpatine, and Darth Vader, and five SMART TAGS for an A-wing, a throne, a Death Star turret, and Lightsaber duels.
