Is this repairable? How?

Ordered an older Gungan set on eBay and the shield arrived like this. Can this be repaired? If so how? I read online that acetone works to soften the plastic so it can be stuck back together. I tried this using some of my wife’s nail polish remover and it didn’t work. Any other tips or am I out of luck? I don’t want to hassle the eBay seller bc the rest of the set was in fine condition (although it arrived poorly packaged and I’m sure that’s why this shield broke). Would love any repair tips!...
