Has anybody figured out how to do modular MOC lighting?

Right...this may need some explanation. I'm not talking about lighting Lego modular sets. I'm wanting to do a sort of model 17th/18th century village as my next big project, and I want to light it. Since this is a long term project, I also want to make it modular (so, I'll have the piece with the church, and attach a piece with some houses onto it, etc.). But, since I want to light the thing, I would also like to have a situation where there are leads in the connectors module connectors so to...
