Found this old retail display unit in a cupboard, any point hanging onto it or are these basically useless?

Hey all, I found this old displayed unit in a cupboard and just wondered if anyone here would know a bit more about them than me! Not looking for valuations or anything, I just couldn't find any information on them from a brief search and was curious which stores might have carried them and so on. I believe it's from the original launch of the LOTR line so around 15 years old. The reason I'm considering just binning it is that it looks like some of the figs have swords etc glued in so...
