Found a Lego Technic RoboRiders Skateboard in my new attic – does anyone know where this came from?

Hi everyone, I recently bought a house and found this LEGO Technic RoboRiders Skateboard in the attic. It's in used condition (some wear along the edges), but the graphic on the bottom and the Lego-patterned griptape on top are fully intact. I don't know much about it and couldn't find much official info: Was this ever sold in regular retail stores, or was it part of a specific contest or promotional event?
