Do you think the Overlord has a grudge against Zane?

Lloyd was a kid, but he at least had this major prophecy stating he had a good chance at destroying the Overlord. Then when he finally gets the chance to come back, he gets blown up by one of Lloyd's friends (who despite being a master of one of the 4 elements of creations), was just a random (and seemingly stupidly self-sacrificial) guy.
