Compound of Five Tetrahedra - finally built (red/black)
The five-tetrahedra compound has been built, and it's not a render! The builder opted for a red and black color scheme for this version, which is simpler, cleaner, and easier on the eyes.
This impressive build consists of 1380 pieces and weighs 1088 grams. Its dimensions are 29.6 x 29.6 x 29.6 cm, and the build time was approximately 4 hours. The edges are 28 units long and double-thickness for rigidity. Hinges are used at the vertices, and no Technic elements were used. The builder also mentioned that this version is close to a version published on BrickLink but not identical, as this build includes extra filler pieces for aesthetic purposes.
The builder is pleased with how well the model holds together. They also noted the improved lighting in the photos compared to their previous post.
If you're inspired to create your own, the builder has a version available on BrickLink. You might want to consider having some brick separator tools on hand for this complex build.

Edges are 28 units long, double-thickness for rigidity. Hinges at the vertices, no Technic. It holds together better than I expected. There's a version published...
