Cole’s Development in DR

I know I’m a little late to the party on this, but I haven’t been able to stop thinking about it. Is anyone else a little upset that Cole just doesn’t seem to care that much when he finally reunited with his old family? Like did he just stop searching for them during the merge or stop caring about them? Even if he felt he just needed to move on because so much time had past, I would think finding them again would’ve made him feel some type of way. Instead he’s just like “oh, Kai, hey buddy.”...
