Christmas Glitter vs Lego trains: how hard would it be to remove?

I was wanting to put my orient express under the Christmas tree and have it run around a bit but I've never done so with a Lego train before and the tree in question has a LOT of glitter from years past that tends to fall down from it and the ornaments if moved. I was wondering how hard is it to remove glitter from something like the Lego orient express or other Lego trains and if it's even worth doing at the time?
