Came back from a trip only to find my Lego gameboy with parts somewhat melted to a green goo ish texture?

So I had this set for very little, left it on the room and after two weeks came to it somewhat melted to what seems like a gooey green texture, everything sticked to it and I thought “Maybe there was something from the wooden table it was in” but nothing was there, could it have been residue from air freshener or something?
