Bought the Orient Express 2nd hand! Any tips for cleaning the bricks?

After missing out on the new set because the offer I was hoping for didn't happen, I decided to buy my first second-hand set at a reasonable price. It came without a box or spare parts, as stated. Pretty happy with it. And I requested the correct country tiles from LEGO. Do you have any tips for cleaning LEGO when parted out?
