While designing this engine I really wanted to keep the connecting rods within 7 studs wide. To solve this I designed and 3d printed thin medium small wheels and thin connecting rods to keep them within the 7-wide with. Traction was an issue with some earlier prototypes, but this was solved by adding a channel in the wheels to accommodate a Lego rubber band. Now I just need to build a second one.
