Are the Ninja allowed to be stronger because they're mentors now?

A passionate discussion among LEGO Ninjago fans has emerged regarding the current powerscaling and competency of the ninja in the series' latest era. Redditor /u/raiderboiz776 highlights that while the original series often featured inconsistent power levels where the ninja gained and lost abilities frequently, the current era portrays the characters as more capable and powerful than ever before now that they have fully stepped into mentor roles.

The analysis breaks down the specific elemental feats and combat prowess of each ninja team member. Kai demonstrates impressive strength by learning Rising Dragon Technique and holding his own against Ascended Emperor Nokt. Cole successfully commands an Earth Golem and stands out as the only ninja able to handle the Wolf of Destruction. Nya proves her skill by defeating a corrupted, Shadow Dojo Jay while holding back and later dominating Nokt in combat. Meanwhile, Lloyd unlocks new potential by realizing his mastery over Life and achieving his Draconus form, and a memory-loss Jay fights with newfound ruthlessness despite wielding seemingly weaker lightning.

Conversely, the community notes that Zane appears to have received a significant downgrade in his abilities. Unlike his teammates, Zane relies primarily on basic ice blasts rather than showcasing his past creativity with complex ice structures and slides, though fans anticipate redemption and new feats during the upcoming Never Realm focus in season 4 part 1.

As fans analyze these evolving character arcs and power dynamics, it is a great time to organize and display favorite Ninjago minifigures and builds. You can keep your collection safe and dust-free by using a LEGO display case or safely dismantle older builds for custom creations with a brick separator.
