A year of Mech-ing around with RigWalkerMocs [Interview]

RigWalkerMocs, a LEGO builder specializing in mechs, celebrates their first year in the AFOL (Adult Fans of LEGO) community. In an interview with Zakar.ion, Rig discusses their journey, inspirations, and experiences within the LEGO community.

Rig's interest in LEGO began in childhood with sets like Rock Raiders, Alpha Team, and Bionicle. After a "dark age" involving skateboarding and video games, Rig returned to LEGO, driven by a passion for sci-fi, big machines, and storytelling. They started an Instagram page to chronicle their creations and connect with other builders. Rig's favorite LEGO theme is Bionicle, and they would love to see Exo-Force sets revamped in 2026.

Rig's mech designs, or "Rigs," are inspired by Transformers, Gundam, and the Titanfall series. They also draw inspiration from industrial equipment, vehicular design, nature, and animals. Rig appreciates the support from the LEGO community, including Zakar.ion, the members of @officialTOROLug, and the organizers of Bricks in the Six. In Rig's LEGO universe, mechs are called Rigs, built with RigTech, and piloted by RigWalkers, with engineers known as Riganeers.
