2004 Millennium Falcon is impossible to build.

I recently got the 2004 Falcon for my birthday, but when I was building it I discovered the cockpit is impossible to build the way the instructions say. The pieces cannot physically connect to the cockpit on the top or bottom, only the sides. I had to switch around some other pieces to make it connect to the rest of the ship, and even then it’s only half connected. The interesting thing is I couldn’t find anyone mentioning this online. Has anyone experienced this or something similar? ...
