Kayla Watts, Black Hair

Kayla Watts is a fantastic addition for dinosaur enthusiasts and collectors building out their prehistoric adventure scenes. What makes this particular minifigure stand out is her distinct styling, featuring a gorgeous black hairpiece with big curls and braids paired with a rugged, outdoor-ready dark green plaid shirt over a white undershirt. Her dual-expression head—featuring a friendly smile on one side and a concerned frown on the other—adds great storytelling potential for action-packed rescue dioramas.

As part of the Jurassic World themed waves, figures tied to specific rescue and expedition teams always catch the eye of completionists. Because she is currently tied to a single set, securing her means picking up the specific dinosaur rescue kit, making her a prime target for fans who want to round out their expedition crew without buying multiple massive sets.

With appearances currently restricted to just one set—the Velociraptor, Stegosaurus & Pteranodon Rescue (77981-1)—Kayla Watts sits in a very interesting spot for rarity. Single-set figures from action and adventure themes often see localized distribution quirks or limited production runs, which can drive up secondary market demand once the set officially retires.

Market data tracking for this specific figure is still in its infancy given the 2026 release timeline of her debut set. However, historical trends for unique Jurassic-themed civilian and handler minifigures suggest that characters with exclusive hair and torso prints often become sleeper hits for collectors who miss out on the initial retail wave.

From an investment standpoint, Kayla Watts earns a solid B+ rating. While she isn't a named movie protagonist like Owen Grady or Claire Dearing, unique character additions to dinosaur subthemes often appreciate steadily thanks to the evergreen appeal of LEGO dinosaurs. Parents and kids alike chase dinosaur sets, leaving loose minifigures in high demand for play and display.

As her debut set moves closer to retirement, expect market data to reflect a healthy bump in value for complete figures featuring both the unique big curly hairpiece and the specific dual-expression head. She's a smart pickup for investors looking at mid-tier theme exclusives with strong cross-over appeal.
