Cook

Ahoy, mateys! The Cook from the Privateer Frigate Fortuna is a fantastic blend of high-seas nautical adventure and classic culinary chaos. What makes this figure an absolute must-have for collectors is the incredible detail packed into its four distinct parts, especially that brilliant lopsided grin and scared expression head paired with a classic pirate peg leg. It's a whimsical character that brings instant storytelling and personality to any custom port or pirate diorama.

Condition is everything when hunting down unique crew members like this ship's cook. Collectors will want to keep a sharp eye out for wear on the reddish brown pirate peg leg and ensure the crisp white chef torso remains pristine without yellowing or scuffs. Because this figure tells a hilarious story of a terrified chef trying to survive life on the high seas, having the original red bandana rag wrap and dual-sided printing intact will be key for future display and valuation.

When it comes to true rarity, this Cook is sitting in an exclusive club. Having only appeared in a single, highly anticipated crowdfunding release—the Privateer Frigate Fortuna—this minifigure instantly commands attention from completionists and pirate enthusiasts alike. Because crowdfunding sets have limited production runs and target passionate adult fans, scoring these figures loose or sealed outside of their original set release can prove quite challenging.

As time marches on, market data for single-appearance BrickLink Designer Program figures tends to climb sharply. With no other versions or wave releases to dilute the pool, collectors looking to staff their pirate galleys will have to compete for a finite number of these specific cooks currently circulating in the secondary market.

From an investment perspective, this Cook punches well above its weight class. Being tied to a premium, retired crowdfunding ship immediately grants it a solid baseline of demand, especially among nostalgic fans who have been starving for classic pirate-adjacent themes. While market data is still catching up to its current value, unique civilian roles within niche military and pirate themes historically perform very well once the primary sets completely dry up.

If you are building an army of swashbucklers or investing in exclusive parts like that unique peg leg and chef combo, this figure represents a solid hold. Expect steady appreciation as the secondary market absorbs the limited supply from the single set it calls home.
