Yellow Toad, Surprised

Yellow Toad with a Surprised expression is a charming brick-built character from the interactive LEGO Super Mario theme. Unlike traditional minifigures, LEGO Super Mario figures are constructed using specialized printed elements, hinges, and custom-molded pieces designed to scale with the electronic figures of Mario, Luigi, and Princess Peach.

This particular figure features distinctive printed parts including the 2x2 cube mushroom cap with bright yellow spots and the 2x2 facial brick displaying a wide-eyed, open-mouthed surprised expression. The combination of custom printed lapels on the 2x2 round body brick and custom foot element captures the signature look of Toad from the Nintendo video games.

For Super Mario completionists, gathering all the color variants and facial expressions of the Mushroom Kingdom's iconic Toad residents is a fun sub-collection. Because these figures consist of multiple specific printed pieces, keeping all component parts together in pristine, scratch-free condition is vital for long-term collectible value.

Yellow Toad primarily appeared in the 2022 Adventures with Peach Starter Course (Set 71403), serving as Princess Peach's loyal companion. Because it was featured in a core starter course, the production volume was relatively healthy compared to limited-edition character packs.

However, because the specific surprised face print and yellow-spotted mushroom cap are exclusive to this variation, replacement parts can be tricky to source individually on the secondary market. Complete, undamaged figures remain desirable among Mario enthusiasts.

LEGO Super Mario brick-built figures typically follow a different value trajectory than traditional minifigures. While they don't generally achieve the sky-high appreciation of rare Star Wars or Super Heroes minifigures, core named allies from the Mario universe maintain steady demand from fans looking to populate their custom Mushroom Kingdom courses.

As the Adventures with Peach Starter Course reaches retirement, complete Toad figures in good condition should see modest appreciation, making this a reliable mid-tier hold for video game and Nintendo collectors.
